This position supports the marketing department.  The Senior Copywriter is responsible for generating and bringing high-quality ideas to life that are on brand and on strategy. This position requires craft in creative copywriting across different mediums along with excellent oral communication, organization, documentation, and research skills. This person will own generating content for the company website and emails, longform white papers and resources, and print marketing and event collateral. Additional duties include proofreading, brainstorming, and campaign strategizing.  This position takes direction from the VP, Marketing.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive the marketing team’s creative process with smart, accurate, original copy
  • Conduct interviews and perform research to stay on top of industry trends
  • Develop creative concepts and campaigns for a wide range of B2B products, services, and initiatives
  • Create and maintain consistent brand voice and messaging across all mediums, including print collateral, web copy, social media posts, data articles, signage, eBooks, white papers, case studies, emails, blogs, and advertisements
  • Work with team members specializing in design or video to ensure copy and visuals work together
  • Experience coming up with quick, clever concepts, headlines, or taglines to move the creative process forward in a group setting
  • Develop and follow an editorial calendar that keeps content consistent, and focused, on a monthly basis
  • Proofread content from outside departments and third-party contracted vendors
  • Offer insight on creative briefs
  • Support the sales team with content that pushes the sales process further; deliverables may include one-to-one emails or social media direct messages, presentations, and scripts
  • Help oversee creative standards and guidelines
  • Juggle multiple projects at one time, and with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines

 Qualifications and Experience Requirements

 Required: 

  • 5+ years of related copywriting experience; agency background a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English/journalism, or related field
  • Proven portfolio required
  • Ability to work independently or collaborate with creative team members, including other designers, writers, and digital strategists
  • Strong desire to learn industry best practices and trends
  • Manage multiple projects at one time and exhibit strong attention to detail
  • Excellent grammar and language skills
  • Understanding of attribution and copyright best practices and restrictions
  • Ability to approach problem-solving with resourcefulness and creativity
  • Awareness and understanding of current marketing technologies and SEO standards
  • Confidently present creative ideas clearly
  • Ability to incorporate feedback and new ideas from team members, outside departments, and leadership
  • A quick thinker who is open to feedback
  • Must be able to develop copy on the fly and quickly convert big ideas into deliverable content

Preferred:

  • Experience writing to the healthcare community
  • Team player who contributes to the marketing team’s collective goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of Salesforce and ActOn (or other marketing automation), social media channels, and various CMS platforms is preferred
  • Open-mindedness, positive thinking, and enthusiasm
