Position Overview 

As Scrum Master, you will inspire an internal infrastructure team to break down their projects into small, achievable units of work and help track their progress so that they can stay focused on their roadmap. You will also work with collaborative teams to deliver quality, innovative, and highly scalable web-based applications to users. You will bring out the best in your teams by: 

  • Creating an environment where all team members feel valued.
  • Reducing distractions so that your teams meet their sprint commitments.
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Helping to create high-quality stories with detailed task break out on a predictable, bi-weekly cadence. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Help train the team on backlog tracking, iteration planning, and capacity planning.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to coach and influence without having direct authority.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improve transparency, and radiate information.
  • Partner with product owners and technical teams to facilitate scrum ceremonies, daily standups, refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Identify and escalates risks, roadblocks and cross-team dependencies that affect other teams and interfere with the team’s ability to deliver commitments.
  • Contain a sufficient understanding of technology systems and the team’s ecosystem to help the team overcome roadblocks.
  • Monitor adherence to engineering process and time tracking. 

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Experience is playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and best practices
  • Experience with Jira a plus.
  • Agile and Scrum certifications are highly preferred (CSM, PSM, CSP, SAFe)
